The Network Engineer IV is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating network systems and communications. This role addresses complex network issues involving a variety of technical factors and provides expert guidance and support to the team.
The Network Engineer IV leads conversations on network architecture design, feasibility, and cost analysis, leveraging extensive expertise in internet protocols, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a quick ability to learn new skills, manages multiple tasks effectively, and maintains a high level of attention to detail in managing incidents, project tasks, and maintenance activities.
- Leads the design and implementation of resilient network solutions with a focus on redundancy, stability, and fault tolerance.
- Develops a two-year roadmap for system upgrades, outlining dependencies and ensuring that all required actions are well-documented.
- Leads cross-functional teams in evaluating, testing, and implementing system updates, patches, and releases in alignment with change control procedures and the Information Services support model.
- Encourages the use of automated testing tools to reduce manual testing efforts and optimize the team’s workflow.
- Applies advanced leadership skills in defining and executing strategic initiatives. Provides deep insights into industry trends and emerging technologies, influencing broader business decisions.
- Manages compliance, security, and business rules related to data, actively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Plays a key role in fostering a security-first culture within the network team. Designs and implements security solutions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.
- Ensures the timely correction of security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, or excess permissions, and documents corrective action plans for non-compliant systems.
- Oversees daily team efforts, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement by sharing knowledge through presentations, training sessions, and best practice discussions.
- Leads cross-functional teams in brainstorming solutions, executing implementation plans, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Develops and communicates team goals, generating buy-in and actively supporting the achievement of objectives.
- Represents the organization in external professional groups, staying current with industry trends and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) required. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of network engineering experience, with at least 5 years of providing enterprise network services (routers, switches, BGP, QoS, VoIP).
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
- Strong expertise in cloud technologies and data center technologies like OTV and VXLAN is essential.
Certifications:
- CCNP certification is required.
- Additional certifications (such as CCIE) are strongly preferred.
- Advanced security certifications like CISSP are also highly desired.
